FUE Hair Transplant

What is the FUE Hair Transplant?

Fue Hair Transplant, is a popular treatment for those who are losing their hair since it involves placing healthy hair follicles in bald spots. The back of the head, where hair is often more resilient to balding, is the first place the surgeon will shave before extracting the hair.

The surgeon removes hair follicles one by one from the donor region using a surgical instrument. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a procedure used to transplant hair follicles without removing a strip of tissue, as in the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) method. Tiny incisions are made in the scalp at the intended destination of the hair follicles.

Following the patient’s normal hair growth pattern, the harvested follicles are transplanted into the recipient region. While swelling and soreness are to be anticipated with fue hair transplant the recovery time is often shorter and less painful than with other procedures.

It is usual for the transplanted hair to begin falling out a few weeks following surgery. Within a few months, new hair growth should begin from the transplanted follicles, with noticeable improvement occurring between six and twelve months after the procedure.

The major advantages of FUE over other methods are its more natural look, less noticeable scarring, and faster recovery time. However, a highly educated surgeon and more time and money are required for optimal outcomes.
